Blood and bodily fluid cleanup is the core biohazard service behind most of what we do – safely removing and disposing of blood, bodily fluids, and any contaminated material, then fully disinfecting the affected area. This applies to a wide range of situations, not just major trauma scenes, including medical emergencies and accidents.
We get calls in Portland, OR from homeowners, businesses, and property managers after medical emergencies, accidents, or any incident that left blood or bodily fluid on a property. Not every job involves a death – sometimes it's a serious injury or medical event that just needs proper biohazard cleanup rather than standard cleaning.
Because bloodborne pathogens can survive on surfaces, we don't treat this like a typical spill. We assess the affected area, contain it to prevent contamination from spreading, and remove material that's absorbed fluid and can't be fully sanitized – carpet, upholstery, or porous flooring, for example. Hard surfaces get treated with EPA-registered disinfectants rated for bloodborne pathogens, and all waste is bagged and disposed of through proper biohazard channels.
Cost depends on how much area is affected and whether porous material needs removal versus surface disinfection.
